Back to School

The first day of school is just around the corner, and we are getting ready to welcome our Pintos back for another great school year! As families prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, we want to make sure you have the information you need to start the year prepared and confident.

From online registration and school schedules to transportation, communication tools, and important dates, here are a few things every California R-1 family should know before August 24!

📲 Stay Connected with the California R-1 App

The California R-1 app is our district’s primary communication tool for classroom updates, school activities, announcements, and important district information.

Parents and guardians can log in using the email address or phone number connected to their Infinite Campus Parent Portal account. Students should use the Google sign-in option with their school email.

Be sure to download the app and turn on push notifications so you don't miss important updates throughout the school year.

Text alerts will be reserved for urgent information such as school closures, severe weather, and emergencies. For everyday communication and classroom updates, families should use the app.

You can also stay connected through our district and school social media accounts.

💻 Don't Forget Your Online Registration!

One of the biggest changes for the 2026–2027 school year is Annual Online Registration through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

Families will no longer need to complete the traditional paper registration packet. Instead, returning families should log in to Infinite Campus and review:

  • Household information

  • Parent/guardian information

  • Emergency contacts

  • Student information

  • Phone numbers and addresses

  • Health information

After reviewing and updating your information, digitally sign and click Submit.

Important reminder for returning students:

If your child attended summer school, they are considered a returning student. You should complete the Annual Online Registration through the Parent Portal rather than starting a new student registration.

Please complete your online registration before attending your building's Registration/Open House event whenever possible.

Families who need assistance accessing the Parent Portal can email Parent.Portal@CaliforniaK12.org.

Need a computer or internet connection? No problem! Families will be able to complete the online portion during Registration/Open House. Completing it ahead of time, however, will give our staff more time to help with any questions or issues.
